I love birds...

We love doing bird candle mats, check these out! The chickadee is a totally new design, sometimes we don't know what were going to put on them, the seasons are inspirations!






The inspiration for this piece came from this photograph I took of the crabapple tree right outside our window, loaded with berries this year. Isn't it beautiful!

What's new at SCD?

It's been a while, but here's what we've created lately!!

We took our plain ol' watermelon design and added some oomph! The vines and leaves really make it pop.

Patio table designs

We created these last year and finally sold 2 this week! Yay! They can also be used as tree skirts for all you folks who do decorative mini-trees for holidays and such. Wish we had time to do ornies to go with!

Another version of the grapevine!

Wow, this one is even better than the previous on cream. This time we used brighter purple glass beads, and on a green grassy background. It truly pops! We may keep this one for ourselves!!

New Idea - Guess what it is?!

We've got a new work in progress, can you guess what it is from the picture?

Gorgeous Grapevine!

We've had this idea in the back of our minds for months and we finally created a pattern for this! It turned out better than we expected. It is truly beautiful! This one is done in wool felt, the cream background is a heavy wool, and the grape leaves are a dark green wool felt. I embroidered vines in both brown and green, and the beads are a dark purple.

Backyard Birdhouses

I posted this work in progress earlier, and mom and I finished it this week. (Guess I should have ironed that new tablecloth first!! LOL) Although we like the blues in this one, we decided to do some other colors, and started another one in barn red, tan and .....(wait to see...!)

Wishing for Spring...

I need spring flowers and warmer weather to inspire new designs! Mom and I created this candle mat first as the Prim bunny jumping over 2 carrots, each with embroidered tops. We did that one on black. Here's a picture.

Yesterday (yes, just yesterday!) it was 60 degrees here in Ohio. It smelled like Spring, I just wanted to go plant flowers! This transformed bunny is more 'springy'!
